Vista Ridge Marching Festival 2016 Finals Wrap Up

You could not have asked for a better day of marching band in Central Texas. The partly cloudy weather was perfect. As afternoon turned into evening, the temperature was just right for Frito Pie and hot cocoa.

Final competition began after an exhibition performance from the Vista Ridge Marching Band.

Here are the Finals Results:

  • 1st  Place:   Westlake High School – 1st in Visual, Music, and GE, 2nd in Percussion
  • 2nd Place:   Georgetown High School – 2nd in  Music, GE, and Auxiliary, 3rd in Percussion
  • 3rd  Place:   Jack C. Hays High School – 1st in Auxiliary, 3rd in Visual, and Music
  • 4th Place:    Lehman High School – 3rd in GE
  • 5th Place:    Louis D. Brandeis – 1st in Percussion,  3rd in Auxiliary
  • 6th Place:    Connally High School
  • 7th Place:    William H. Taft High School
  • 8th Place:    Victoria West High School – 2nd in Visual
  • 9th Place:    William J. Brennan

Vista Ridge Marching Festival Prelim Awards

October 1 was the 6th annual Vista Ridge Marching Festival!

Twenty four high schools competed for ten spots in the finals.

In preliminary competition, Mason High School placed – 1st, Brady High School – 2nd, and Florence High School – 3rd in the 3A Division.

Lampasas High School placed 1st and Liberty Hill High School – 3rd in the 4A Division.  Making their first appearance at the festival, was Leander ISD’s newest high school. The Tom Glenn High School finished 2nd in the 4A Division and 16th overall.

In the 5A Division, Georgetown High School came in 1st, with Connally High School and Bryan High School finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
